LuSE and Standard Chartered to Collaborate on Financial Literacy
Standard Chartered Bank Zambia Chief Executive Officer, Mr Sonny Zulu and his management team paid a courtesy call on the LuSE Chief Executive Officer Mr. Nicholas Kabaso and his management team. Standard Chartered was the first bank listed on the Exchange and has been listed for the last 26 years. During the meeting LuSE CEO commended Standard Chartered on their commitment to providing Zambians with banking products and services for the last 118 years. Mr. Kabaso also applauded the bank for having effectively used technology in transforming the way banking is done and in making lives easier for clients.
The two parties acknowledged that financial information must be sold to everyone to drive increased market activity and participation. Therefore, the two sides agreed, among other things, to work together to drive financial literacy to the general population and agreed to share platforms to drive financial awareness in the market.
